Mechanical Design Engineer – Enclosure Systems

Role Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer with strong experience in electronic enclosure design and small form factor (SFF) systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing enclosure solutions for Tsecond's hardware products, collaborating closely with electrical and manufacturing teams to create world-class, production-ready designs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the mechanical design and development of enclosure systems for electronic devices.
  • Work collaboratively with the electrical design team to align mechanical and electrical requirements.
  • Ideate, design and execute small form factor (SFF) enclosure systems and packaging solutions.
  • Develop detailed 3D models, 2D drawings and manufacturing artifacts including DXF, EMN/EMP files and assembly drawings.
  • Perform DFT (Design for Testing) and DFM (Design for Manufacturing) analysis for optimized production readiness.
  • Conduct thermal and CFD simulations to ensure optimal heat dissipation and airflow performance.
  • Carry out interference and tolerance analysis for enclosure sub-assemblies.
  • Plan, test and refine designs through CAD, CAM and simulation tools.
  • Maintain compliance with engineering standards and best practices in design and documentation.
  • Support fabrication, prototyping and local vendor coordination during the manufacturing stage.
  • Ensure all design deliverables meet Tsecond's performance, safety and quality standards.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Proven expertise in mechanical enclosure and small form factor design for electronic systems.
  • Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, machined enclosures, fixture assemblies and thermal management systems.
  • Hands-on experience with SolidWorks or equivalent 3D CAD tools for modeling, assembly and simulation.
  • Working knowledge of thermal and CFD analysis tools.
  • Excellent understanding of mechanical engineering principles, materials selection and industry drawing standards.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to test and validate design hypotheses through simulation.
  • Self-driven and proactive in design ideation and problem-solving.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in mechanical design and enclosure system engineering.
  • Experience working with conduction and forced-air cooling systems.
  • Prior experience in electronic device packaging and product development environments.
